Nearly 33 thousand readers from eleven countries joined the 11th International Reading Marathon, yestarday, February 19, 2019. This year Miklós Radnóti's works were performed on the occasion of the 110th anniversary of the birth of the poet and the 75th anniversary of his death.
In the afternoon of the marathon, the readers continued to read, they took turns to keep the reading going. The event happened at the Kájoni János County Library: members of the Németh Géza Cultural Association have traditionally joined the reading. The students of the Segítő Mária Roman Catholic High School and the students of the Székely Károly Secondary School also read in our library. In the afternon, mostly individual readers arrived, members of the library's youth and adult readership, members of the Hungarian Scout Association in Romania, and librarians read Radnóti's poems.
